The recently passed financial “bailout” bill is an absolute abomination! NOWHERE in the US Constitution is the federal government granted the right to stick their noses so deeply into the free market. The problems were caused by our tyrannical government interfering in the free market starting with the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 and moreso with 1995’s modifications to that act which functionally criminalized responsible banking practice, yet this bill left that atrocity in place to do more damage in the future. While proponents were screaming that we had to do something, and we probably DID have to do something after all those years of government interference, it would have been much better to do nothing than to do something stupid. Our leaders chose stupid!

The bailout bill passed by both houses of Congress with bi-partisan support did NOTHING to address the problem, and did very little to address the symptoms EXCEPT to elevate the unelected Treasury Secretary to a position of power higher than just about everyone else on the planet. The man personally in charge of the US economy. It not only robbed responsible citizens of $700,000,000,000 directly to reward a complete lack of personal responsibility and juvenile government, but it will require a massive new bureaucracy to manage the personal property that was illegally placed under the control of the federal government.

No one who voted in favor of this horrendous bill should be permitted to keep their jobs! Not a single person who defecated on the United States Constitution with their vote should be permitted back into the hallowed halls of the United States Congress! Every congressman and senator takes an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Those who voted in favor of this bill have outed themselves as that domestic enemy of the United States Constitution that they swore to support and defend! Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the next election to remove them from positions where they can continue to do damage to We, the People.

When President Bush called on Congress with the wisdom of Animal House and said:

I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part.

We’re just the guys to do it…. Let’s DO IT!!!
